Dale Tilbrook Experiences
Dale Tilbrook is a Wardandi Bibbulmun woman whose traditional Aboriginal Country is the Margaret River, Busselton area. Dale has been a Swan Valley local since 1998, where she opened the Maalinup Gallery, an Aboriginal owned and operated enterprise with her brother Lyall. The gallery located 35 minutes from Perth CBD, offers authentic Aboriginal cultural activities, talks, performances and bush tucker as well as local Aboriginal art, gifts and high quality Australian made souvenirs.
Dale Tilbrook needs little prompting to discuss her favourite topic, the native food scene that Australians call “bush tucker”. Dale is an expert on Indigenous bush foods and is in high demand to share her knowledge and demonstrate how to cook using native ingredients both locally and internationally.
Dale’s journey in Aboriginal tourism began 25 years ago after she returned from living overseas, starting with boomerang and artefact making with her brother but has in recent years expanded into experiences as customers seek more knowledge about Aboriginal culture and life. With this growth, Dale Tilbrook Experiences was born.
