Kakadu
Did you know that Kakadu National Park is Australia's largest, covering nearly 20,000 square kilometres - or almost 5 million acres? Kakadu is located in the Northern Territory, around 240km east of Darwin. Renowned for its cascading waterfalls, dense rainforests, native wildlife and thousands of sites of ancient Aboriginal rock art, Kakadu is host to a wealth of significant sites, with an Aboriginal history dating back tens of thousands of years.
There are many Aboriginal nations in Kakadu National Park. The Binini in the northern region of the park and the Mungguy people in the south are the traditional owners. A range of Aboriginal tours in the area offer you a chance to learn about Aboriginal life, history and culture.
