Rainforestation Nature Park

YOUR EXPERIENCE PROVIDER Rainforestation Nature Park

The award-winning Rainforestation Nature Park is located in Kuranda’s World Heritage rainforest. Set on 100 acres in the midst of World Heritage rainforest, the park was purchased by Charlese and Pip Woodward in 1974. The site had previously been used as a coffee and orange plantation. It can be reached by road from Cairns. The park is home to the Army Duck Rainforest tours on land and water, the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience and the iconic Australian animals in the Koala & Wildlife Park.

In 1993, the Woodward family worked alongside Djabugay Elder, Lyn Hobber and Donald Enoch from the Pamagirri Dance Troup and the Pamagirri Dreamtime Walk Cultural Tour was born. This authentic tour is hosted by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. Here you can learn about the world’s oldest surviving culture with the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience. Watch a traditional dance performance, spear presentation and be blown away by the didgeridoo. Test your boomerang throwing skills.

The Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience has recently won the 2019 Queensland Tourism Award in Gold for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Tourism.

Rainforestation Nature Park is open every day except Wednesday 9:00am-3:00pm.
