Maruku Group Touring Terms and Conditions
To assist us in ensuring the success of your Group Tour or Event we would appreciate your attention to the following terms and conditions. Please read these carefully before signing and returning the acknowledgment form below:
GENERAL BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Bookings
All group bookings for Maruku tours can be made directly with Maruku.
Confirmation
To avoid disappointment, written confirmation of your booking must bereceived within 24 hours of making the tentative booking. Should Maruku failto receive confirmation within the given time, every effort will be made tocontact the client prior to releasing the booking, which Maruku reserves theright to do.Deposits &
Payments
If no credit facilities have been established a 10% deposit or full paymentmust be paid to confirm your booking. Final payment must be made 14 daysprior to the tour date. Should final payment not be received by this date,Maruku reserves the right to cancel the booking and charge the applicablecancellation fee.Final
Attendance
The guaranteed minimum number of guests attending the tour is required by11.00am, 14 days prior to the tour date. Charges will be based on theseminimum numbers or the actual attendance, whichever is greater. FOC (Free of Charge) Policy for Accompanying
Guides
Maruku permits one FOC accompanying tour guide for every group of minimum 10 pax and maximum 30 pax. Any requests for further guides totravel FOC will be dealt with on a case by case basis. For all such requests orFOC famil requests for your guides or staff, please contact our Office.
Cancellation
Should you need to cancel your tour the following terms may apply –
- Over 28 days written notice - the deposit will be refunded in full.
- 28 - 14 days written notice - the cancellation fee will be equivalent to 10% of the estimated total value of the tour.
- 3 - 3 days written notice - the cancellation fee will be equivalent to 25% of the estimated total value of the tour.
- Within 72 hours written notice - 50% of the estimated total value of the tour will be charged.
- Within 24 hours written notice - 100% of the estimated total value of the tour will be charged.
- No refunds will be issued for ‘no shows’.
Personal Property
Maruku will take all reasonable care to protect the property of all guests. Wedo not accept responsibility or liability for the loss or damage of items leftbehind prior to, during, or after the tour. We suggest that travellers arrangetheir own insurance and/or security for valuable items.
Advertising and Endorsement
The Client must first obtain written permission from Maruku managementbefore using the name or trademark of Maruku and/or its subsidiaries in anymanner.
Children travelling
Children are classified as any child between the ages of 5 – 15years.
Children’s rates do not apply to group/exclusive touring.
Compliance
Clients will be responsible to ensure the orderly behavior of their guests andMaruku reserves the right to intervene where it sees fit.
Smoking
Government regulations prohibit smoking inside our premises.Commercial
Photography & Media
Photography & filming for commercial purposes may not be taken without prior permission from Maruku. Media groups are encouraged to contact Maruku prior to planning tours for media purposes.> All commercial photography and filming of our tours require a one off royalty fee payment of $350 payable to each Anangu guide per tour.
It is also a requirement that if you wish to take photographs, video, film orsound recordings for commercial use within the National Park you will requirean Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Parks Permit.
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park encompasses Uluru (previously known asAyers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (previously known as the Olgas) and is a WorldHeritage listed area. The Anangu people own the park and lease it to theDirector of National Parks. Filming, sound recording or photography permits must be obtained from the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Media Office prior to any commercial filming, sound recording or photography. Details of the requirements and applications for permits are available at: www.deh.gov.au/parks/uluru/vis-info/permits Maruku cannot assist in obtaining these permits. Please be aware that filming and photography is prohibited inside the Cultural Centre. Itinerary
Maruku reserves the right to alter any of the tours and change the structure of tours if required. This could be a result of weather conditions, unforeseen circumstances and/or cultural reasons. Tour durations may vary from advertised times.
Tour Participation
Guests with disabilities are welcome provided they are accompanied by an able-bodied companion and do not require special assistance from Maruku personnel.
Maruku reserves the right to refuse carriage to anyone it feels cannot cope with the requirements of the tour and who may require services and facilities that cannot be guaranteed to be available.
For safety reasons, Maruku will refuse to accept guests who are intoxicated, under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Refunds will not be given in these instances.
Group Size – 30 pax
To maximise client satisfaction our maximum group size on any tour with Maruku is 30 pax. Group sizes exceeding this number will be split into smaller groups and charged accordingly.
Cultural Obligations
Please be aware that Maruku guides and artists are traditional Aboriginal people with strong cultural obligations. In the event of ceremonial duties or other unforeseen circumstances, Maruku Arts may not be able to provide the specified tour as advertised. In these instances we will endeavor to offer alternatives and advanced notice as far as possible.
Children Travelling
Children 4 years and under can join the activity free of charge, however must not take up a paying seat.
Children under 16 years must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Photography
Photos for personal use are permitted on all our tours, however we request that you ask your guide when it is appropriate to take photos. No video filming or sound recording is permitted whilst your Anangu guide is talking. Please note no photography is permitted inside the Uluru CulturalCentre. Uluru-Kata Tjuta
National Park tickets
All guests 16 years and older entering Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park are required to purchase a National Park Entry Ticket. National Park Entry Tickets are $25.00 and are valid for 3 days.
